The Bath Luxury Knitting Retreat

An exclusive, luxury retreat set in the heart of the historic city of Bath, returning again in March 2027.

A Spring Gathering in Bath

Our March retreat welcomes the arrival of spring in Bath - a beautiful time of year when the city begins to wake up after winter and the surrounding countryside comes into bloom.

This retreat will once again bring together a wonderful group of knitters for a luxurious and inspiring few days in this remarkable city.

As always, the retreat will include inspiring workshops, special experiences, and time to explore Bath, with a few surprises along the way.

All the Details

Ladderback Jacquard class with Zaneteknits

Join us for an exclusive workshop designed to master the Ladderback Jacquard method, a game-changer for knitters who love stranded colourwork but struggle with float management.

We'll dive into the world of stranded colourwork knitting with a quick overview of its key features and float management techniques, then take a closer look at the Ladderback Jacquard method. To bring the theory to life, we'll work on a small swatch together. By the end, you'll have a solid understanding of the method and how to use it in your future stranded projects

Our headline teacher: Zanete Hussain aka Zaneteknits

We've admired her work for years, so it's a genuine thrill to say: Zaneteknits is joining us in March as our headline teacher.

Once a software engineer, she now designs some of the most striking knitwear patterns working today - weaving old traditions with new ones, and Latvian folk motifs with influences pulled from all over the world. Her patterns aren't just charts, they're small journeys: a search for the balance between wanting to stay still and wanting to wander. If you've ever finished one of her designs and felt like you'd been somewhere, you already know exactly what we mean.

At this retreat, she'll be leading a hands-on Ladderback Jacquard class, full details below.

Also teaching: Amanda Jones

Some faces you're always glad to see come back and Amanda is one of ours. A designer with well over 150 patterns to her name, she's spent years turning technical knitting problems into things that actually make sense, the sort of person who can look at a pattern and tell you exactly why it isn't sitting right on you, and how to fix it.

Her class for this retreat is still taking shape and we'll confirm it as soon as it's locked in, but if her past workshops are anything to go by, expect to leave with a skill you didn't have on the way in.

Lovely things previous guests have to say…

The Bath Luxury Retreat...is the gold standard for knitting retreats. The itinerary of workshops and presentations was spot-on with plenty of opportunities for exploring Bath and knitting around the lovely hotel grounds.

Having exclusive access to the entire Royal Crescent Hotel facility was a dream, the food was amazing and don’t even get me started on the goodie bag. 10 out of 10, no notes.

This retreat was a relaxing, thought provoking, luxurious stay in Bath. Carmen and her team are to be commended for the planning and hospitality that went into this retreat. The hotel, food, people, gifts and team were all memorable.

The speakers were all inspiring and from the one who has been in the industry for many years to those who are starting their journey there was plenty to discuss, learn and hope for the future of our craft. Carmen this is going to be a hard one to top!

The Bath Luxury Knitting Retreat was absolutely the highlight of the year (and last several years!) for me. This was a great experience—time for me to be with others, and plenty of time to myself.

I learned new skills to help me “level up” that I never would had tried on my own. I met lovely people, the hotel was fantastic, and Bath is magical. I cannot recommend the experience enough. I hope to attend again!
